The Club has a number of social events including occasional quizzes with proceeds going towards the running of the Club or equipment to help members develop their photography. As well as going out for a post-Christmas meal, the club arranges a number of summer outings between June and August to a range of locations. Recent destinations have included Hastings, Dungeness, London Wetlands Centre, Birdworld, Borde Hill Gardens, Pashley Manor, Kew gardens, RHS Wisley plus others as featured below.
This club had a stall at the fete on the Green to help promote the club and display a variety of members work. It was a great day with good weather and a large number of people attended throughout the day. We hope visitors liked what they saw and look forward to seeing you in September. Many thanks to those members who came along and did a shift to staff the gazeebo. Overal, a very good day!
Dungeness, August 2016
We at last managed the trip to London with five members, Bob, Alan R, Lawrence, Richard and David catching the train from Orpington on a pleasant evening. As we arrived at the greatly changed London Bridge the sun was starting to set behind some clouds with a chill in the air. A quick look around Borough Market with some members going on to Blackfriars before meeting back at No 1 London Bridge. This was our chance to try capturing light trails and low light sights of London. Alan made good use of his tripod while others amongst us played around with ISO settings. We finished the evening with a walk along to City Hall before a weary walk heading back to London Bridge.
